Slim Aarons was an American photographer well-known for his portraits of the rich and famous throughout a career lasting half a century (1916-2006). Capturing the golden age of wealth, privilege, beauty and leisure, his images celebrate the who’s who of high society during the cultural and political backdrop of the second half of the Twentieth Century.
Slim worked for leading magazines of the day including Life, Holiday and Harper’s Bazaar, travelling around the globe rubbing shoulders with the world’s elite. His subject matter covered American and European hi-society as well as nobility and stars of the day.
Showcasing winters in Gstaad or Palm Beach to summers on the French or Italian Riviera to the Caribbean, his works in recent years have become widely acknowledged. He is now regarded as one of the most influential photographers of his generation.
