Baburu Bowl

Balanced on top of a small bubble-like base, the Baburu Bowl offers a sculptural take on a traditional Japanese bowl design — Baburu being the Japanese word for bubble. Offered in three sizes that can be grouped together, it works equally well for everyday storage or as a standalone artistic object to elevate a shelf, coffee table or sideboard. Made from hand-glazed ceramic, each piece varies slightly in colour; it is not waterproof or food safe, so it is best kept for dry storage and display. 101 Copenhagen was founded in 2017 by Danish designers Kristian Sofus Hansen, Tommy Hyldahl and Nicolaj Nøddesbo. Drawing on backgrounds in design, fashion and time spent in Japan, the trio blend Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism. The result is heritage-rooted design with a playful, contemporary edge.
