Bagua Lounge Chair

The Bagua Lounge Chair takes its name and form from the ancient bagua diagram, in which the balance of yin and yang is illustrated through symbols arranged in octagonal formations, reflected here in its eight-sided oak base. Softly rounded and sculptural, its full upholstery wraps around an enveloping contour for a generous sense of comfort, while its compact proportions suit an intimate corner as easily as a considered accent in a larger room.

District Eight was founded in Ho Chi Minh City in 2010 by Darren Chew and Paul Norriss. The brand draws on Vietnam's layered history, French colonial, modernist and contemporary, pairing warm timber with steel. Every piece is handcrafted in the brand's own Ho Chi Minh City workshop.
