Big Foot Bench

Part of the Big Foot furniture line of cast concrete pieces — which also includes two side tables and a coffee table — this bench is defined by chunky, cylinder-shaped legs inspired by Brutalist architecture of the mid-20th century. Cast in lightweight fibre concrete for a uniquely textured surface and easier mobility, each piece is hand-painted in multiple layers to build a strong, resistant finish. The result is a substantial-looking, sculptural seat that reads as heavy while remaining genuinely easy to move around a room. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl.

101 Copenhagen was founded in 2017 by Danish designers Kristian Sofus Hansen, Tommy Hyldahl and Nicolaj Nøddesbo. Drawing on backgrounds in design, fashion and time spent in Japan, the trio blend Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism. The result is heritage-rooted design with a playful, contemporary edge.
