101 Copenhagen
Bloom Vase
Drawing on floral forms, Bloom translates soft, organic shapes into a collection of sculptural vases and trays, with layered petal-like details fading into one another to suggest the different stages of a flower opening. It reinterprets 1970s floral design with a cleaner, more raw sensibility, where a smoothly curved surface sits in contrast to a strong underlying geometry. The Mini is hand-painted ceramic and fully waterproof, ready for fresh flowers, while the Big is cast in hand-painted fibre concrete, which is not fully waterproof, so it is best styled with dried stems or displayed on its own as a sculptural piece. Both are for indoor use. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl.
101 Copenhagen was founded in 2017 by Danish designers Kristian Sofus Hansen, Tommy Hyldahl and Nicolaj Nøddesbo. Drawing on backgrounds in design, fashion and time spent in Japan, the trio blend Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism. The result is heritage-rooted design with a playful, contemporary edge.
