Bull Table Lamp

Taking its name from the bull-like silhouette of its opal glass shade, this table lamp draws on the animal motifs characteristic of Danish Modernism from the 1940s through the 1960s. The shade scatters light smoothly, giving the lamp its distinctive character, while an unpolished grey marble base grounds a lamp arm in oxidised aluminium wrapped in spun cognac leather. The upper section, also oxidised aluminium, sits in striking contrast to the translucent glass shade above it.

101 Copenhagen was founded in 2017 by Danish designers Kristian Sofus Hansen, Tommy Hyldahl and Nicolaj Nøddesbo. Drawing on backgrounds in design, fashion and time spent in Japan, the trio blend Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism. The result is heritage-rooted design with a playful, contemporary edge.
