Iwa Tray

Named after the Japanese word for rock, the Iwa Tray explores contrast through materiality and form. Finished in a clean Birch ceramic with a soft, mineral-like appearance on top, its perfectly circular surface and crisp edge sit in deliberate contrast to the raw, organic texture of the underside, reminiscent of a rugged mountainside or fractured stone. The tray's calm, soft and tactile upper surface offers a deliberately minimal counterpoint to its rougher base. Available in three complementary sizes, it works for serving, display, or simply as a standalone statement piece.

101 Copenhagen was founded in 2017 by Danish designers Kristian Sofus Hansen, Tommy Hyldahl and Nicolaj Nøddesbo. Drawing on backgrounds in design, fashion and time spent in Japan, the trio blend Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism. The result is heritage-rooted design with a playful, contemporary edge.
