Lotus Vase

Inspired by the layered form of the lotus flower, this vase brings together organic curves and sharp lines in one sculptural silhouette, with several flower-like forms fading into each other as they rise from a set of pointed feet. Sharp lines run from base to rim, culminating in a star-shaped opening that contrasts with the vase's otherwise smooth, rounded surface. Made from hand-painted fibre concrete in two sizes, it is not waterproof, so it is best suited to dried arrangements or displayed on its own. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl.

101 Copenhagen was founded in 2017 by Danish designers Kristian Sofus Hansen, Tommy Hyldahl and Nicolaj Nøddesbo. Drawing on backgrounds in design, fashion and time spent in Japan, the trio blend Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism. The result is heritage-rooted design with a playful, contemporary edge.
