101 Copenhagen
Oka Tray
The Oka Tray reinterprets traditional Japanese serving trays, usually made from wood or bamboo, in solid fibre concrete — a material shift that adds weight and a refined surface texture while keeping the familiar silhouette intact. Its sculptural, architectural shape suits a range of decorative uses or works as a standalone art object. As a natural material, colour can vary slightly, and the tray is not fully waterproof. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl in 2018.
101 Copenhagen was founded in 2017 by Danish designers Kristian Sofus Hansen, Tommy Hyldahl and Nicolaj Nøddesbo. Drawing on backgrounds in design, fashion and time spent in Japan, the trio blend Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism. The result is heritage-rooted design with a playful, contemporary edge.
