Tairu Table

Tairu, the Japanese word for tiles, offers a modern take on mid-century tile tables. This Calacatta version pairs Calacatta marble tiles with a fibre concrete frame. The result sits somewhere between furniture and mosaic art, celebrating the tactile, layered surface of tiled stone. Natural colour and pattern variation in the stone means every table is unique. 101 Copenhagen was founded in 2017 by Danish designers Kristian Sofus Hansen, Tommy Hyldahl and Nicolaj Nøddesbo. Drawing on backgrounds in design, fashion and time spent in Japan, the trio blend Scandinavian restraint with Japanese minimalism. The result is heritage-rooted design with a playful, contemporary edge.
